Take a little trip back in time with me, will you? Several months ago we experienced quite the heat wave here in London. With no air conditioning, I googled every public fountain and splash pad with plans to hit up a new one every day of that unbearable heat! Somerset House was one of those hidden gems of a place. It certainly isn't an "unknown" as there were plenty of other kids (big and little, alike) cooling off in the fountains. Rather, it was an "unexpected" tucked in the middle of bustling central London. We spent several hours there--Josephine running back and forth while I sat on the sidelines just taking in the sunshine. We ended our morning at one of the outside cafes, sharing a sweet treat before hopping the bus back home. While summer in London is quickly coming to an end, if you are looking for a place to beat the heat next summer with your little ones, I cannot recommend this enough! Oh, and there is a wonderful museum there, too, if that's your kind of thing.... ;)
