I had a little laugh as I mixed up this super simple cooling mist, and again as I dug out my bathing suit top to take these photos. London summertime is upon us--low 70s, sun playing peek-a-boo with the clouds, the ever present threat of rain--certainly not the scorcher of a heat wave we experienced a couple months ago or the 100 degree temperatures that greeted me in Dallas last week. If only I had thought to bring this mist along on that trip! Though I won't be needing a reprieve from the heat anytime soon, with lots of you living in warmer locales or planning your end-of-summer beach trips I knew this was the perfect DIY to share. I know I will be keeping this on hand when we move back to DC in a couple years. Those hot and humid summers are no joke! Bring this mist along to the beach, the pool, the gym, that hot yoga class, on your hikes, while sightseeing--anywhere you may need a little cooling refresher!
Cooling Mist
Distilled or Purified Water
Peppermint Essential Oil
2 oz. Glass Spray Bottle

Add 25 drops of peppermint oil to your bottle and fill the rest with water. Give it a good shake and spray on your arms, legs, chest, neck, face (just avoid the eye area), etc. for a cool, refreshing sensation!
