I hosted a little Valentine's Day brunch on Saturday. It was a chance to have some girl-talk and make some super fun DIYs with essential oils! We gabbed about everything... mamahood, life, babies. I feel so lucky to have met some really lovely ladies here who help to fill that need for community and friendship we all crave while living abroad.
I kept everything super simple. For food I served quiche, fruit salad, and a cake version of these muffins. So yummy! I love party planning and decorating, so any chance I get to decorate a table I am gonna take it ;) One of my favorite tricks for decorating a long table is using wrapping paper as a runner. I just used a basic brown kraft paper, but you can have fun with a patterned one. It makes clean-up a breeze! And flowers are always a great addition to any party. I picked up some pretty pink tulips at the flower shop down the road from us. They really brightened up the place!
Sharing these oils with others, especially other mamas, is such a passion of mine. It was so fun talking about all the wonderful benefits as we made the different DIYs. We made relaxing + romantic (it was Valentine's Day after all!) bath salts, hand purifier, and a wonderful blend to support sleep. I will share all the "recipes" below :)
"Relaxing + Romantic" Bath Salts
8 oz. glass mason jar
1 cup epsom salt
1 tbsp. baking soda
2 drops ylang ylang essential oil
2 drops bergamot essential oil

Combine epsom salt and baking soda in glass jar. Add in the essential oil and stir. Add 1/4 cup to a warm bath and enjoy!

Hand Purifier
distilled water
1 tsp. witch hazel
10 drops thieves oil

Add witch hazel to bottle then fill remainder of bottle with water. Add in the thieves oil, attach the top, and shake. Spray on hands, toys, shopping carts, restaurant highchairs, cell phones, public restrooms... everything! Shake well before each use.

"Sleepy Time" Roll-on
10 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops cedarwood essential oil

Fill bottle with coconut oil, leaving room at the top for the roller ball attachment. Add in the oil, pop on the roller ball, and shake. Apply to wrists, bottoms of feet, and the rims of the ears before bed.
