The first week of the January Health Challenge was a lesson in accepting the curve balls that life throws and giving myself some grace. Just a quick aside--I am so thankful for the amazing community of women I've met through this challenge who are willing to share their personal health journey and help me remember that perfection isn't the end goal. Let's talk exercise. My little girlie up there was not too thrilled with being left at the gym childcare center, so last week was all about finding other ways to get a workout in. Some nights I did yoga in the evenings once Josephine was in bed and there were a couple occasions when I snuck off to the gym as soon as Pete got home from work to get some cardio in. Obviously this isn't the ideal plan, but we are working on it. This week we are doing a settling-in period at the gym center. Basically a way for Josephine to get used to mama leaving her for a bit and then coming back. Today was another tear-filled drop off, but I am not giving up! 

I have been chugging along with the healthy eating. But, confession alert, I CANNOT give up the caffeine. Gosh, the struggle is real you guys! Coffee is my friend and I just can't let it go. I'm moving forward though and focusing on all of the positive changes I've made in the past week rather than that one little hiccup! Like the fact that the eczema on my hand is pretty much gone.. whaaat?? All I've been doing is cutting out the gluten and sugar... makes you wonder... :)

Weight: 128 lbs. (down 3 lbs!)
Waist: 27 1/2 in. (lost 1/2 in.)
Hips: 38 in. (lost 1 1/2 in.)
Thighs: 22 1/2 in. (same)

  1. Aww poor Josephine! I can only imagine how hard it must be to leave her like that but then also getting that coveted workout in...tough position but you're doing your best right now!! Struggle is definitely real..I could not begin to give up caffeine!! I tried last year..ok, I didn't really want to try, it was more, I was sick and I couldn't have coffee & cream,haha..omg that entire day was ROUGH!! Congrats on the inches lost!! Ahh so amazing!!

    1. hey thanks, friend!! definitely came to the realization that coffee is my friend and i am not giving it up anytime soon haha!
