LEMON + HONEY LIP BALM

One of the areas I have started to really focus on with essential oils is skin care. When I first started transitioning to a more holistic and natural approach to wellness I really only focused on the health benefits of oils. But these oils are just as wonderful and beneficial for skin!

The amount of artificial ingredients and chemicals in many of the products we use on our bodies is quite crazy. Something I've started doing is making some super simple products to replace my usual drugstore and department store products as I run out. This lemon + honey lip balm is one of them.  The coconut oil, shea butter, and almond oil are super hydrating. Lemon is a natural antioxidant and has the most uplifting scent. Paired with honey, it makes this lip balm simply delicious! Can't wait to gift these at Christmas :)

LEMON + HONEY LIP BALM
(makes 2- two ounce lip balms)
2 tbsp. coconut oil (raw + organic is best)
1 tbsp. shea butter
1/2 tsp. raw honey
2 tbsp. beeswax
lemon essential oil (more info on how to purchase here)
empty lip balm tins (these are great!)

Melt the coconut oil, shea butter, honey and beeswax in a glass bowl set over a pot of simmering water (or a double boiler). Once completely melted, remove from heat and stir in the almond oil and 10-15 drops of lemon oil. Quickly pour the mixture into the lip balm tins. Allow to cool thoroughly before placing lids on the tins.

Feel free to play around with different oils and combinations--orange, tangerine, grapefruit, citrus fresh and peppermint would be great in this!

Just a little reminder that today is the last day to enter this giveaway!!
