After any kind of travel or vacation I always come home feeling and looking a bit worse for wear. It's that feeling that I need a vacation after the vacation. Usually I've overindulged in some yummy food and drink, not gotten enough sleep, not stayed hydrated enough, not kept up with my usual skin routines... the list goes on. Not to mention all of the germs you can pick up on the plane or train or in the hotel or while you are out and about sight-seeing. When we went to Paris a couple weeks ago it was a completely different story, though. I felt sooo good when we got back to London. I felt like you should feel after an amazing trip with loved ones to one of the most beautiful cities--refreshed, renewed, and relaxed. My little secret to feeling great was this "kit" of essential oils that I never leave home or travel without.

+peppermint | this is great for all sorts of tummy and digestive issues... like when you've had one too many pain au chocolates ;) just inhale right from the bottle or put a drop on your tongue. also a great on-the-go breath freshener!

+lavender | great for all things skin! i mix this is in with my daily moisturizer. you can also mix it with some coconut oil and use as a hand cream/body lotion. perfect for adding some hydration back in to your skin after a long, drying plane ride. the smell is also super relaxing!!

+geranium | another great skin oil. i add this in with lavender to my face cream. mix it with some coconut oil and it also makes a great diaper cream!

+thieves | rub it on your feet with some coconut oil every night and it will help keep your immune system running at full speed while you are away! great to use on everyone in the family... the littlest ones to the grown-ups. a tip for diffusing this while away is to apply several drops to some cotton balls and put them in a vent in your hotel room. soon you'll be breathing in all that immune supporting and germ-fighting goodness! oh, and it smells like Christmas. yummy!

+purification | this is my every day blemish treatment. my skin tends to freak out when i travel and just a dab of this on any blemishes really helps take the redness and inflammation out. it's also a great one for purifying the air in hotel rooms. apply to cotton balls and put it in the vents!

+elemi | this is my go-to nightly skin saver. it is something i use every single night on my face, so it obviously needs to be in my travel kit :) it's great for wrinkles and really helps with sallow looking skin. apply it with some coconut oil to your face at night and wake up with radiant skin!

+lemon | i add this to my water throughout the day. it helps flush out toxins and keeps me hydrated while on-the-go. just make sure you always use glass cups and bottles and glass/stainless steel straws when adding essential oils. this is my favorite water bottle to use... it's perfect for travel! and these straws are the best!

+panaway | go-to headache reliever and overall pain killer. great for sore legs or backs after a day of walking! just dilute with some coconut oil and apply where needed.

+ stress away | they don't call it "vacation in a bottle" for nothing! this is my daily perfume. i just love the smell. i roll it on all day long. great if you are a nervous traveler or for keeping zen while your toddler has a full on meltdown while on vacay. ;)

+breathe again roll-on | for when congestion hits while traveling and great for sinus headaches! just roll it across your forehead and sinuses and on your chest and back.

+thieves spray | this is probably my number one travel tool. i pretty much spray everything down with it that needs some cleansing. use it on those airplane tray tables, restaurant high chairs, public restroom door handles, spray down toys that have fallen on the floor, i even use it as a hand cleanser when i am in a pinch!

Some other great oils for travel....
+ rutavala roll-ongreat for getting a good night's sleep.
+peace & calming | helps to unwind after stressful travel day.
+digize | for tummy troubles.

I am in love with this adorable pouch I got at the Renegade Craft Fair this past weekend (will be posting about the amazing-ness of that fair tomorrow). It's the perfect size for keeping all of my oils contained in one, easy to access place. Also, those small amber bottles are GREAT for travel. Just fill with oil and label with some washi tape. Saves a lot of room in your bag! :)
