For the past two weeks we have been passing around a pretty nasty cold. First it was Pete. Then Josephine woke up one morning with a runny nose that, sure enough, became a full blown cold. And now I am the latest victim. A cough, a stuffy nose--I just feel plain old miserable and mamas don't get sick days. Which, I just have to say, is so horribly sad. I found myself moping around the house today just wishing I could crawl into bed and sleep the day away. But I have a toddler who even when sick has more energy than I do on a good day! So no sleep for mama. Boohoo.
I was recently introduced to the wonderful benefits of essential oils and have been completely amazed by what they can do. With cold and flu season upon us I wanted to share this powerful blend that will help knock out all that ickiness. Just add the above amounts to a glass bottle with a roller ball attachment and apply to the feet several times a day when you feel a cold coming on. You could also dilute it in a little bit of carrier oil (organic coconut oil is a great one!) before applying, although it is not necessary. This is perfect to use on children, as well, just be sure to only put it on the feet. To really kick all those germs to the curb, diffuse several drops of Thieves oil every 3-4 hours for 15-20 minutes at a time. It has anti-viral properties (among many, many other amazing benefits), and will remove all those nasty germs from the air in your home. No more passing colds from person to person. Can I get an amen?
