A portrait series of my daughter once a week for 52 weeks.

It's been so fun adding back in the little touches around the house that make it "ours." When we hung the book shelves in Josephine's room, and filled them with her books and toys, it was as if the room was transformed in to her room back in Virginia (albeit a whole lot tinier ;)). It's little details like that that can make all the difference in turning a house in to a home. As soon as we were done hanging and filling them she ran right over and begin taking books down, one by one, just like she always had. We have been going through a pretty big transition the past two days. One that hasn't been the easiest. We have said bye-bye to our beloved pacis. There's been lots of tears and lots of sadness. Sometimes I think about how much change we have thrown at her in such a short period of time... packing up the only home she has known, moving her in to a hotel, flying thousands of miles away to an unfamiliar place, and now taking away something that has always been such a comfort. But knowing that she has all the familiar things and comforts of her first home all around her makes me feel a bit better about it all. This too shall pass, and then it will be on to the next big change. Hold on tight!
