Hurricane Sandy has come and gone, and we count ourselves very lucky to have weathered the storm with no damage whatsoever. We did lose power for several hours last evening, but that is nothing compared to the utter devastation we have seen in NYC and NJ.

Pete had the last couple of days off since the federal government was closed. We did some cooking, baking, tv watching, and I got some good crafting and knitting in. We took a little walk around our neighborhood this afternoon to see what, if any, damage there was. All we found were a lot of wind blown leaves, a couple of downed trees, and a rushing ravine. We are so thankful for being spared...and for this baby keeping put through the storm. It could have been much worse.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were not spared the effects of this disaster.
