I'm so glad you asked!

The last week has been a whirlwind, to say the least.
Here are some of the things we did/accomplished in our first seven days back in the States:
-One of the first stops we made (literally within 5 hours of landing) was Target. If you are a regular reader of this blog this should come as no surprise as I was not shy about expressing my desire to hit up Tar-jay as soon as we landed on American soil. I had to keep reminding myself that we now reside in the U.S. for good, so I didn't need to go crazy and buy up everything in the store in that one trip. I can swing by a Target whenever I want now...this is exciting!

-We purchased our very first (new-to-us) car! It was quite the experience as neither of us had ever bought a car before, but we are very happy with the results. We both kept saying how "grown-up" we feel now that we bought a car. This is something adults do!

-We found a place to live! This was, for obvious reasons, at the very top of our to-do list. We probably looked at 10 or 12 places before finding "the one." As soon as we walked into the apartment we just knew. It was the only one we saw that pretty much ticked all of the of boxes on our "must have" list. We will hopefully be signing the lease tomorrow. This is the first time the owners have ever rented their home, so they wanted to take extra care in reviewing the lease. We just can't wait to get that lease in our hands, sign on the dotted line, and get in to our new home!

-We ventured in to DC to grab dinner at Cava with a very dear friend (Hi Steph!) who I can't wait to hang out with more now that we are back in the area! We enjoyed some yummy food, and while Pete and Steph had some sangria, I sipped on a delicious raspberry-lime, minty drink. I wish I had gotten a picture of all of us at dinner, but we were too busy catching up to pull out the camera.

-We did a good bit of shopping...pretty much all of which was for me. I was in desperate need of some new pregnancy-friendly clothing. And, let me tell you, it is so nice to own some clothing that actually fits. It's amazing how much better I feel about this growing belly and changing body, now that I don't have to worry about my clothes fitting properly. I was trying so hard to make my current wardrobe work for as long as possible, but I think making it 6 months was a pretty good run.

-We met with the doctor who will be delivering little Miss Moo, and we could not be more pleased. I am much more at peace now that I know we will be in good hands for the remainder of this pregnancy and for the delivery.

-Other than that, we have just been enjoying being back in Northern Virginia...going for runs outside, not feeling like you are risking your life every time you get in the car to drive somewhere, being able to wear sleeveless tops and sundresses without getting disapproving looks, going back to "our" church for Sunday mass...I feel like a broken record lately, but I can't help but keep thinking (and saying) how great it is to be back home!
